Why Gateway Goa, Palolem Is the New Face of Authentic Goan Hospitality

What if Goa’s most soulful experience wasn’t by the beach at all? What if the true rhythm of Goa pulsed inland, where rivers meander through coconut groves and the air hums with heritage? This is where Gateway Goa, Palolem steps in — a new chapter in Goa’s hospitality that dares to look beyond the shoreline and rediscover the heart of the state.

A New Kind of Goan Story Begins
At the newly opened Gateway Goa, Palolem, guests recently gathered for a cake-mixing ceremony at 74NE, the rooftop lounge overlooking Patnem and Galzibag. Amid the golden glow of sunset, the aroma of spiced fruits and aged spirits filled the air — a symbolic celebration of togetherness and tradition. It was more than a ritual; it was a glimpse into the soul of this new property by The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), where every guest becomes part of a living Goan story.

Design That Breathes Goa
Architecturally, the resort pays homage to Goan sensibilities through earthy materials like terracotta, timber and handmade tiles. At the all-day dining restaurant, Goan classics take on a refined twist — prawn balchão on sourdough, toddy-infused bebinca cheesecake, and cocktails inspired by local botanicals. Every detail is a nod to Goa’s evolving culinary story.

IHCL’s Milestone Moment
The launch of Gateway Goa, Palolem marks a significant moment for IHCL — the 250th operational property under its banner and the first Gateway-branded hotel in the state. As Senior Vice President – Operations, Goa, Mr. Ranjit Phillipose notes, this addition reflects IHCL’s commitment to expanding into experience-led travel, blending hospitality with heritage.

Where Goa Feels Familiar Yet New
As twilight falls over Palolem, Gateway Goa, Palolem captures the very essence of Goa — warm, rooted, and full of heart. It’s not just another hotel opening; it’s an invitation to rediscover Goa’s timeless charm — one that goes far beyond the shore.
